$500–$4,000. Common prints: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: Kaneko's vivid, pop-influenced prints have a wide international following. Colorful figure compositions are most popular.
Little Comet, edition 146 of 200 from 2006, uses the comet's brief, blazing passage through the sky as a metaphor for flash and intensity. In Kaneko's graphic vocabulary, a comet might be rendered as a bold arc of color across a dark field, or as a dynamic compositional diagonal that disrupts the static equilibrium of the picture plane. The word "little" adds a dimension of endearment to the cosmic subject — a small, brilliant, transient thing, perfectly suited to a print that aims for immediate visual impact.
