Description
A tall, narrow woodcut dominated by a cascading waterfall rendered in vertical streaks of white, pale blue, and dark indigo against a mustard-yellow background of fine horizontal hatching, with a plain brick-red band across the top. Green rocky outcrops flank the falling water at lower left, and at the base a tiny robed figure sits cross-legged beside a small round-shelled creature, dwarfed by the cascade above. Nana Shiomi's 2015 woodcut *The Sound of Waterfall, Thinker* uses this stark scale contrast between the immense white-and-blue falls and the diminutive seated figure as its central composition.
