Description

A tall red circus tent dominates the composition, its peaked roof topped with a small red pennant and scalloped white edging around the crown. Within the tent's red field, black linework depicts an aerialist upside down on a trapeze alongside another acrobatic figure, above a knotted safety net rendered in fine crosshatched lines; below the net, concentric white geometric bands—triangles, dots, and circles—fill the lower portion of the tent like a patterned ground or platform. The print is pencil-signed "Matsubara '77" and numbered "27/35" in the lower margin, with a small red artist's seal at bottom left, on cream-toned paper.
