Description

Two hands rendered in solid red-orange ink come together in a clapping gesture against a plain cream ground, one palm shown frontally with the fingers fanned upward and the other overlapping it at an angle so the fingers interlock. The forms are bold and graphic, with fine white linework incising the fingernails, knuckle creases, and palm lines out of the flat red pigment. Below the image, the artist's pencil inscription reads "Clap - Impression of Hands - 74 / Naoko Matsubara" alongside a small red seal, consistent with the 1974 woodcut print titled *Clap*.
