Description
This abstract woodcut composition features two clustered spirals of overlapping, finger-like tubular forms stacked vertically on a cream ground, rendered in magenta, deep purple, and teal-blue with white highlights along the rounded tips. The overlapping bands of color create a layered, rope-like or braided effect rather than depicting any recognizable figure or setting. Below the image, the print bears a red seal, pencil annotations reading "ed. 30" and "Flute '76," and the artist's pencil signature, "Matsubara."
