Description
"Siena" (1963) is a woodcut print by Naoko Matsubara depicting the striped, arched façade of a Gothic cathedral rendered in bold black-and-white patterning against unprinted cream paper. Dense vertical registers of striped pilasters, pointed arches, a central rose window, and rows of small standing figures along the lower portals build a tightly packed, ornamental composition that fills nearly the entire sheet. A red circular seal and the artist's signature appear in pencil at the lower left.
