Description
This untitled print is part of Ninomiya Miyuki's documented exhibition record at the International Mokuhanga Conferences. Mokuhanga distinguishes itself from Western relief printmaking through its specific material requirements: [kozo](/glossary/kozo) or [gampi](/glossary/gampi) [washi](/glossary/washi) paper sized with dosa, water-based pigments mixed with nori, and impression by hand using a [baren](/glossary/baren) rather than a mechanical press. Each color in a multi-block print requires its own carved block, with kentō registration marks ensuring the layers align across impressions. Without a title or detailed description recorded in available references, the specific subject and palette of this work are not documented. Its presence in Ninomiya's IMC exhibition history — Nara in 2021 and Echizen in 2024, the latter in the Asia regional exhibition — indicates the work passed through a juried selection by international mokuhanga peers, situating it within the contemporary continuation of the technique rather than its historical workshop form.
