Secret Fort 3

Secret Fort 3, a 2019 drypoint etching by Noriko Saito, is an abstract composition of loosely scratched black linear marks over a pale grey ground, with a curved grey arch-like form spanning the upper portion of the plate. A thick vertical band of deep blue runs down the left edge, accented by small patches of yellow near the top and olive-green near the center, while a grey cross-like mark sits near the bottom above the artist's pencil signature "NORIKO" and edition number in the lower margin. The overall effect is loose and gestural, with no representational figures or setting, set against the print's wide white paper margin.
