Description
A woman in a purple kimono patterned with fans, layered over green and red-orange undergarments, stands beneath a flowering weeping cherry tree, her hair pinned up with ornamental combs. In the middle distance two more figures in patterned kimono walk along a path toward a pagoda partly hidden by blossoming trees, with a pale blue-green sky fading to yellow at the horizon. The palette is soft — dusty purples, greens, and pinks against sandy ground — framed by a red woodblock border, consistent with the title "March," by Ogata Gekko, 1890, woodblock print.
