Description
A robed monk swings a suspended log beam to strike a large bronze temple bell mounted in a wooden frame, his body lifted onto his toes with the effort; three black birds fly low across the reddish-orange ground below. Bare cherry branches thick with white blossoms fill the left side of the composition, set against a pale blue-green sky band at the top. "Morning Cherry," woodblock print by Ogata Gekko, 1897.
