Description

Two long-billed snipes with mottled brown, white, and rust plumage stand in shallow water, one bent low with its beak nearly touching the surface and the other upright behind it. Grey-toned reeds rise diagonally in the background against a pale, muted sky, with faint blue ripples indicating water at the birds' feet. The print is signed with a red seal at lower right and matted and framed in gold beneath glass. Ohara Koson; "Snipes and Reeds," 1926 and "Wild Ducks and Pampas Grass," medium: two woodblocks in colors.
