$300–$2,000. Common prints: $300–$800. Key value factors: Sano's landscape prints are modestly priced and accessible to collectors.
Osaka Castle's white-walled tenshu (main tower) rises above a dense surrounding canopy of trees caught in full autumn color. Sano's 1996 [oban](/glossary/oban) woodblock print positions the castle as a vertical accent punctuating a horizontal sweep of red, orange, and gold foliage. The stone walls and moat are partially obscured by the turning leaves, so the architecture appears to emerge from the forest rather than dominate it. This framing reverses the typical castle-portrait convention where the structure commands the foreground. Instead, autumn itself takes visual priority, with the castle serving as a landmark that orients the viewer within the seasonal spectacle spreading across the Osaka skyline.
Osaka Castle in Autumn was created by Sano Seiji (佐野精二) in 1996.
