Description
Continuing the 2023 Cosmos series, Scene A-13 belongs to a stretch of the work where the serial logic has become unmistakable: each etching modulates the same essential motif of cosmos blossom read as star-field, and the print is best apprehended in dialogue with its neighbors rather than as a standalone image. Tachibana's preferred intaglio vocabulary — bitten line, aquatint, occasional chine-collé inserts — supports compositions in which botanical specificity and cosmic abstraction are held in balance. The Birds & Flowers tag locates this work within kacho-e by subject, while the medium and visual idiom place it within Western contemporary printmaking. The serial discipline mirrors that of her long-running Michi (Path / Life) project, in which an extended numbered edition functions as a record of contemplative studio practice rather than a sequence of dramatic statements. Scene 13 inhabits the interior of that progression.
