Flower Pieces VIII

A long horizontal composition divided into panel-like vertical sections: a maroon block topped with a scalloped olive-and-cream pattern, an olive-green field with a pale floral or leaf motif rendered in loose brushy strokes, a broad solid orange panel, and a right-hand grouping combining an olive-and-white spiky floral/foliage motif with small solid blocks of mint green, deep blue-violet, and a yellow polka-dot pattern. The overall palette is warm and saturated—maroon, olive, orange, mint, indigo, and yellow—set against a plain light gray background, giving the piece a bold, patterned, quilt-like mood.
