Hyacinth

Etching, 2017, by Shinko Araki, divided into vertical panels on cream paper. The left two-thirds render clustered hyacinth blossoms in dense purple-blue and maroon florals against a cream ground with olive-green foliage accents; the right third shifts abruptly to flat, solid dark blue fields split by thin horizontal and vertical dividing lines, with a small patterned indigo-and-white square in the upper right corner. A graphite pencil signature is inscribed below the image on the lower margin.
