$500–$4,000. Common prints: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: Ono's socially conscious prints and urban scenes are valued for both artistic quality and historical interest.
Printed during Ono's European travels of the early 1960s, this edition of 7 from 20 captures the great dome of Vienna seen through the filter of his Japanese modernist sensibility. European architecture fascinated Ono for the same reasons Japanese cityscapes did — the drama of masonry, the geometry of civic structures, the texture of old stone. He rendered the Viennese dome with the same flat authority he brought to Shinjuku tower blocks, finding graphic order in foreign grandeur.
