Description

A close-up composition of a peacock with wings raised, its iridescent green, blue, and orange tail feathers with eye-spot markings fanned across the upper portion of the print, and its dark, blue-green wing plumage spread to the right. Below and around the peacock cluster several downy chicks in pale orange and yellow, one reaching up toward the adult bird's beak; the ground is rendered in a warm tan tone. The artist's signature and a red seal appear in the upper right corner. Woodblock print by Tsuchiya Rakuzan.
