Description
The fourth work in the Kintsugi Cabin series extends Hall-Patch's layered methodology to another iteration of a weathered coastal structure. The photo-etching base captures detail at a level close to architectural photography, while screen print introduces tonal or chromatic passages that depart from purely photographic rendering. Embossment presses the [washi](/glossary/washi) to create tactile surface relief, and chine collé bonds additional paper layers that contribute color and texture. Gold leaf applied to structural damage or repair sites transforms documentary subject matter into a meditation on impermanence, care, and the aesthetics of deterioration. The numbered series format signals systematic, near-scientific observation of vernacular buildings.
