Description
The fourth work in the Kintsugi Cabin series extends Hall-Patch's layered methodology to another iteration of a weathered coastal structure. The photo-etching base captures detail at a level close to architectural photography, while screen print introduces tonal or chromatic passages that depart from purely photographic rendering. Embossment presses the washi to create tactile surface relief, and chine collé bonds additional paper layers that contribute color and texture. Gold leaf applied to structural damage or repair sites transforms documentary subject matter into a meditation on impermanence, care, and the aesthetics of deterioration. The numbered series format signals systematic, near-scientific observation of vernacular buildings.
