Description
Dawn Blooming (2017), a woodblock print by Yoshihito Kawase, shows a tall vertical composition dominated by a glowing golden-orange orb against a black background, its edges softly feathered rather than sharply outlined. Below and in front of the orb, delicate spidery flower heads and thin stems rise in silhouette, rendered in muted white, pale pink, and green tones that grow lighter and more diffuse toward the bottom of the sheet. A small red seal appears in the lower left corner.
