Wind God (Fujin), printed in 1969 as a stencil, presents the companion deity to the Thunder God — the wind deity who carries a large bag of winds slung over his shoulders, his posture dynamic with the energy of releasing the storms he controlled. Fujin and Raijin were almost always depicted together in Japanese religious art, most famously in Sotatsu's celebrated screen paintings, and Mori's pairing of these two prints (both from 1969) honored this compositional tradition. The wind god's billowing bag and the dynamic posture of wind release made him a subject of considerable compositional energy.
