Description
Enclosure (3), a color woodblock print from 1965, edition 10 of 30, is among the earlier and more limited entries in Amano's Enclosure series. The very small edition of 30 copies suggests this was produced before the series had achieved commercial momentum, and the early date indicates this series was active already in his mid-career period. Enclosure 3 establishes the compositional logic that subsequent prints in the series would develop: the relationship of bounded interior to exterior space, rendered in Amano's increasingly refined geometric vocabulary.
