Description
Enclosure 32, a color woodblock from 1967, edition 7 of 50, is a mid-series entry that shows the Enclosure concept in mature development. By 1967, Amano had refined his geometric approach to the enclosure subject — the contained form, the boundary between interior and exterior, the spatial dialogue that results — to a high degree of compositional sophistication. The edition of 50 is somewhat larger than the earlier Enclosure 3 (edition 30), reflecting the series' growing market presence.
