Description
Enclosure 36 by Amano Kunihiro is a fully abstract, geometric woodblock print with no figures. Two vertical columns of gray circles containing red squares flank a narrow central column of solid dark green, with a small black square holding a cluster of dot-like marks placed partway down the center; a band of thin vertical wavy line patterns runs horizontally across the middle, interrupting the circle-and-square motif. The palette is limited to dark green, gray, black, and red on a cream/tan border, giving the composition a repetitive, grid-like, meditative mood.
