Description
Morning 92 — deep into the series — represents Amano's most extended serial investigation, the ninety-second study of a single temporal subject pushing into territory that few artists explore. At this depth in a series, the work has typically evolved substantially from its beginnings; the 92nd Morning print is likely a very different compositional and chromatic statement than the 11th, though both share the series' fundamental conceptual orientation. The willingness to sustain this kind of investigation over so many works marks Amano as one of the most committed serialists in Japanese printmaking.
