Description
Mountain Kabuto A — 山甲A — combines the word for mountain (yama) with kabuto, the armored helmet worn by samurai warriors. "Mountain kabuto" may refer to the helmet-like silhouette of a mountain peak, or it may be a metaphorical title that treats mountain forms as the armored headgear of the landscape itself. Amano's geometric abstract treatment of this unusual combination — mountain form rendered as protective martial structure — creates a title that invites formal and metaphorical interpretation simultaneously.
