Little Brothers

*Little Brothers* (2021) by Asako Iwasawa depicts three elongated, cucumber-like vegetables rendered in pale green with vertical striping, hanging vertically against a pale blue background. Each vegetable has a narrow vertical slit exposing an interior filled with tangled, scribble-like linework in contrasting colors—cream and orange-red in the left two, cream and pink in the right one—while dark green leaves and thin curling tendrils weave between and behind them. The acrylic surface is rendered in flat, graphic passages of color with a small blue artist's seal in the lower right corner.
