Key value factors: For living or recently deceased artists, limited edition size and gallery representation drive value. Signed and numbered prints from smaller editions are most desirable.
Water 128 I-Y.B.F., a 2012 ink and color woodblock, pushes the Water series past the 125-mark into territory where the accumulated body of work itself becomes part of each new print's meaning. Every addition redefines the whole, the way each new day of rain changes the total volume of a river. Yoshida's coded suffix I-Y.B.F. distinguishes this particular impression's conditions from the 127 that preceded it. The ink and color combination allows for a richer tonal palette than monochrome entries in the series, with water rendered through the full range of tones that dampened paper and woodblock can produce together.
