Going Far Away

This 2009 woodblock print by Gen Yamanaka presents an abstract composition on a pale cream ground: four irregular ovoid forms in yellow, pale blue, red-orange, and rust brown are scattered across the left portion of the sheet, while a curved pale-green stem or leaf-like shape arcs upward at right against a soft pink vertical band. The palette is muted and warm, with thin visible woodgrain texture in the background. The print is pencil-numbered in the lower left (11/35) with Japanese characters and signed "Gen Yamanaka" in pencil at lower right.
