Description
An abstract composition of jagged black forms set against a mottled grey ground textured with fine cracked, scratch-like marks. A horizontal reddish-brown bar crosses the lower third, intersected by a thin diagonal black line and small accents of mustard yellow and olive-brown; a rough brown shape sits in the upper right. Pencil inscriptions appear in the lower margin; this woodblock print in ink and color on paper, "Composition P" by Hideo Hagiwara, dates from 1958.
