Description

A snow-capped Mount Fuji rises against a mauve-and-grey sky, framed by dense, angular branches of cherry blossoms rendered in mottled pink, white, and touches of ochre. Dark green-black foliage and rough brown-and-violet embankments fill the lower register, with a pale horizontal band suggesting a path or fence line cutting across the middle distance. The composition is densely patterned and stylized, with the blossom clusters dominating the foreground plane against the flatter, muted mountain backdrop; this woodblock print in ink and color on paper, "Curtain of Flowers" by Hideo Hagiwara (1981), is numbered 82/100 in pencil at the lower right.
