Description
An abstract composition in dark indigo and near-black tones, divided into three horizontal bands with a strip of fine vertical striations running through the darkest middle band. Near the right edge, a narrow vertical cluster of saturated blue, teal, and yellow bars interrupts the dark field, the only strong color accent in the otherwise muted, textured surface. Hideo Hagiwara's 1959 color woodblock print "Iris (Rainbow)" [Niji], edition 6/30, is signed and titled in pencil beneath the image, with the print number noted at the lower right.
