High Tide

An abstract composition split into two panels: the left half stacks dense horizontal bands of green, black, coral-pink, and blue evoking a tree line and sky reflected over grass or water, while the right half shows dark rippling water in teal and blue tones with a bare, root-like tree trunk breaking the surface and two dark fish swimming below. "High Tide," a 2012 color woodcut by Hiroki Morinoue, pairs cool aquatic blues against warm coral and green in a patterned, linear texture throughout.
