Description
A willow tree with drooping branches of pale green leaves arches across the right foreground, its gnarled trunk framing a view across a still, pale blue-green pond toward a low pink-red embankment. Beyond the water rise dark clustered trees, from which a red pagoda-roofed structure and a taller multi-tiered pagoda emerge against a soft peach-toned sky. Small dark waterfowl dot the water's surface, and the palette throughout is muted and hazy, giving the scene a quiet, overcast stillness — Ikenohata, Hiroshi Yoshida, 1937, woodblock print.
