Description
"Early Summer" enters the seasonal subject matter that runs as a thread through Tajima's otherwise resolutely abstract practice. The freshness and pale warmth of early summer — the light before heat becomes oppressive, the green before it deepens — are rendered through abstract color relationships rather than botanical or landscape imagery. Pale greens, soft yellows, and open compositional space together evoke a mood and temperature without descriptive representation.
