Description
An untitled Nishimura Hodo woodblock print, the final in the sequence of unidentified works from his shin-hanga output. Together, his titled and untitled prints form a body of work that represents the decorative and atmospheric ambitions of the shin-hanga movement at its peak — refined, technically accomplished, and sustained by the aesthetic traditions of Japanese woodblock printmaking that the movement both inherited and transformed.
