Description
An untitled Nishimura Hodo woodblock print — the final work in this sequence of unidentified prints from his shin-hanga body of output. Whether bijin-ga, kachō-ga, or landscape, the print represents Hodo's sustained engagement with the decorative and atmospheric traditions of Japanese woodblock printmaking, executed with the technical refinement that distinguished the shin-hanga movement at its peak in the 1930s.
