Description
A wide horizontal composition shows a row of prickly pear cacti with rounded, paddle-shaped lobes silhouetted against a muted grey-blue sky patterned with faint circular motifs; small pale rectangular shapes float in the upper portion of the sky. In the lower right, the dark silhouettes of several running human legs emerge from beneath the cacti against a warm orange-brown ground, while patches of dark grass line the foreground. The palette is dominated by desaturated greens, greys, and blues, with the warm orange-toned earth providing the only bright contrast; the mood is still and dreamlike.
