$200–$2,000. Common Kyoto views: $200–$600. Key value factors: Ito Nisaburo's Kyoto prints are popular and accessible. Night scenes, snow views, and cherry blossom compositions command premiums.
Daffodils — suisen in Japanese — are one of the most beloved flowers of late winter and early spring, their bright yellow trumpets and white petals appearing while snow may still be on the ground. Nisaburo's treatment of daffodils as a botanical subject represents one of his departures from pure temple and landscape subjects toward the kacho-e (bird-and-flower) tradition. His shin-hanga technique, with its refined color gradations and precise line work, would render the daffodil's distinctive form with botanical accuracy and aesthetic sensitivity.
