Description
The station of Maisaka, beside the entrance to Lake Hamana in Shizuoka, appears here in the particular quality of morning light that turns the water's surface to hammered copper and gilds the reed-fringed shoreline. Maisaka's position between the open Pacific and the enclosed lake gave it a distinctive marine atmosphere, and Sekino's "morning glow" title signals his interest in the fleeting chromatic transformation that dawn brings to water-adjacent landscapes.
