Description
A woman with an elaborately upswept dark coiffure kneels on a tatami floor, bent forward over needlework held in both hands, with a length of crimson thread running down to a wound ball of magenta yarn on the floor beside her. She wears a grey-green patterned kimono over an orange-and-yellow striped underlayer, cinched with a blue obi, set against a spare interior of paper shoji screens at left and an open wooden veranda railing revealing reeds, faint birds, and a small distant roofed structure. Titled "Crimson Lotus, White Lotus" (紅蓮白蓮), this woodblock print is by Kajita Hanko; its date is unknown.
