Description
A second limited edition impression of the primary Quiet Rain composition, this print documents the ongoing demand for Kawano's most successful subject in edition-designated form. Limited edition prints carried a premium in the postwar Japanese art market oriented toward Western buyers, and Kawano's careful edition management reflected both artistic and commercial awareness. The print retains the characteristic bold outlines and figure-in-rain setting while the LE notation distinguishes it from open-edition impressions.
