Vorticity

This abstract composition centers on a dense, spiraling mass of dark navy looped lines forming a tall, rounded vertical shape against a mottled field of blues patterned with concentric wood-grain rings. Scattered across the surface are medium-blue circles, small navy triangles clustered in the upper corners, a few sparse red dots, and thin vertical ochre drips running down the left and right edges. Karen Kunc's 2014 monoprint and mixed-media work "Vorticity" is rendered entirely in cool blues with these warm accent touches, with no figures or legible setting.
