Description
A tall wooden trestle dominates the composition, its diagonal beam sawn by a worker balanced near its top while smaller figures cut and plane timber at its base; a color bar and inscribed cartouche run down the left edge. Mount Fuji's snow-capped peak appears small in the distance between the trestle's legs, framed by soft grey-green hills and a pale rose-tinted sky at right, with a stream and rocks in the lower left corner. The palette is muted — indigo blues, sage greens, and warm tans on aged paper — printed in woodblock by Katsushika Hokusai as part of Fugaku Sanju Rokkei (Totomi nakayama).
