Description
Two Soldiers Beating Drums is a figural [ukiyo-e](/glossary/ukiyo-e) print designed by Katsushika Hokusai around 1805 and now held in the Art Institute of Chicago. The composition presents two warriors striking drums in unison, a subject drawn from the long tradition of warrior pictures ([musha-e](/glossary/musha-e)) that ran in parallel with the better-known beauty and actor genres in Edo ukiyo-e.
