A woodblock-printed humor book published in February 1882 under the title "Collection of Humorous Leftovers," presenting an assortment of Kyosai's comic sketches, caricatures, and visual jokes in book form. The "leftovers" conceit is itself a joke — these are the scraps from Kyosai's table, yet even his discarded ideas outstrip the best efforts of lesser artists. Published in multiple volumes throughout the early Meiji period, these books gave wider circulation to his improvisational genius.
