Description
Part of Yamamoto's parallel Sea Breeze series, which steps outside the interior settings of Light, Time, Silence to consider the coast and open air. Lettered rather than numbered (A, B, C), the sequence proposes variations on a sustained landscape theme. As a stone lithograph in monochrome, the print would render water, sky, and shore through tonal gradations rather than color contrast — the granular surface of the stone translating into the soft graphic texture characteristic of the medium. The title's emphasis on breeze, the felt rather than purely seen, aligns with the artist's broader concern with atmospheric, quasi-temporal subjects: not only light and silence but also the movement of air. The print belongs to a wider project of locating stillness in motion, applying the same tonal patience to coastal subjects that Yamamoto brings to chairs, staircases, and doorways.
