Description
Blue Wind A — a titled abstract or semi-abstract composition in which the color blue and the sensation of wind are the compositional subjects. Kimura's series of wind subjects explored the Japanese sensibility that wind is not merely a meteorological phenomenon but a seasonal and emotional one — spring wind, summer wind, north wind, and blue wind each having its own character and its own visual representation. The "A" designation marks this as the first in a series, its compositional solution one of several Kimura would explore.
