Description
Rainbow LE — a limited edition print depicting the rainbow, the natural phenomenon that combines color, light, atmospheric moisture, and transience in a single visual experience. The rainbow's arc across the sky and its prismatic spectrum of color made it one of the most demanding subjects for color woodblock printing, the gradual transition from red through orange, yellow, green, blue to violet requiring careful color management. Kimura's contemporary treatment of this subject may render the rainbow with greater or lesser literalism.
