Description
A twenty-eighth untitled print by Nakajima Kiyoshi. His printmaking career represents a sustained engagement with the question of how to render in the woodblock medium the atmospheric qualities that seem to exceed the medium's capacities — the softness of morning light, the movement of wind through grass, the particular quality of air just before rain. His technique's development across his career shows a progressive refinement in the tools and methods he brought to answering this question.
