Description

A woman with her hair in a dark upswept knot, seen from behind, sits beneath a wooden balcony roof wearing a pale blue kimono patterned with dark blue geometric florets and a mustard-yellow obi. Through the railing she looks out over a dark river where white fireworks burst above the water among small red sparks, with several boats and lantern-lit pavilions visible on the far shore beneath a night sky. Vertical Japanese text panels frame the scene at the upper left and right edges of the composition.
